Looking Forward In 2024

By Barry Rudesill

So last time I used the blog to talk about what we had accomplished in 2023. This time, let me give you a quick heads-up for what our goals are for 2024:

First, we really DO want to get the Student Edition revised and uploaded. Progress has been slower than we wanted, but we still have hopes that we can get it all done by June 1. This includes updates to videos, workbooks, Facilitators Guides, The Bridge for Students, and more! If you are a Student Edition Facilitator, be sure to keep watch on our Blogs to see updates!

Second, by request we are hosting our first-in-a-LONG-time Trek Retreat Weekend. We’ve booked Crescent Lake Bible Camp in Rhinelander, Wisconsin for the weekend of March 22-24, 2024. Both Maria and I will be available to teach, meet, or just talk. We’ve had a number of sign-ups already, but we’re still looking for more couples and/or individuals to join us!

If you would like to register for The Trek Retreat Weekend, you can do so by clicking here: https://forms.gle/V6ofi1vJXpfdocCe9 Please note that we will not be sending out invoices until we’ve reached the minimum number of 20 participants.

Third, we still have some behind-the-scenes updates to finish on our website. These are going to allow us to provide a faster, easier, more secure experience for all of you. I’ve been currently working with our web designer, Aavitech, to get some of these taken care of; and my phone lit up with 13 messages from him last night, so I think a lot of the work may already be done! (And I got to learn more about the India Kite Festival in the process!)

Fourth, we’re hoping to teach our first fully-Zoom Trek class. I (Barry) will likely take the first class, so we can iron out any tech issues along the way. So, if you know someone who can’t get to a live class and who doesn’t want to do it alone, how about we do it virtually, instead?

Finally, we’d like your opinion on something:

Both Maria and I have been on LinkedIn for years, but don’t do much with it. I’ve been reading the blog posts recently, and was wondering if there would be any value in offering a Trek “Workplace Blog”. We’ve spoken with managers who have talked about using Trek in the workplace to help employees who may be struggling. (The best way we’ve heard it phrased is, “Personal issues become performance issues.”) If we did that blog, it would be solely on LinkedIn.

So, with that, do you think that would be something valuable to do?

In addition to all of this, there are other projects Maria and I are working on. As they become available, we’ll keep you posted!

Thank you for your encouragement and support! We really do appreciate each and every one of you!

We hope you enjoy your journey!
