Testimonials
We can tell you what you will experience on your journey, but we want you to have the chance to listen to some of the thousands of people who have completed The Trek:
“[I have a Trek student who] believed no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't change based on what she had learned and what she had been told. She had never learned this info we learned last week in Trek while in school, and in counseling. She said she wished she would have known this before.” - Pastor Keith
“After the...boys returned back home from the “Back To BASICS” program, I was told by Barry Rudesill that the boys had a great time… According to Detective Thompson, he has not had any police contact with the boys since they went to camp. (For us in law enforcement, this is a good sign!)” - Chief of Police Ken Manthey
"I learned that I can do a lot more than I imagined!" - Eric, Jr. High Student
"Unlike other programs, The Trek gives me practical steps that I can actually follow to change my life for the better. I wholeheartedly recommend The Trek to anyone; it's invaluable!" - Sheila, Adult
"The problems that I thought were superficial actually come from a much deeper place than I thought. This explains why my attempts to heal didn't work; I was just scratching at the surface." - Anonymous, Sr. High Student*
“Thank you for coming into my life and bringing me The Trek… I am 48 years old and I'm still feeling the pains of that eight-year-old clinging to his mother's leg after Dad left. I'm not sure where this will lead me. It feels good and bad at the same time. But I'm very confident it will lead me to an even better life.” - Chris, Author
“[This student] went from aggressive to walking away from conflict.” - Aaron, Assistant Principal
“The journey through Trek was...painful. But the healing that takes place is incredible. A freedom for the soul!!!” - Debbie, Adult
“At the end of every session, they told us that the choice is ours. I never really thought about that before. I thought I couldn't control how I responded to situations, but now I know that how I respond is my choice.” - Anonymous, Sr. High Student*
“Before Trek I had been shut down. I would fake smiles when things were wrong. I am now okay with saying I am sad or unhappy and able to show true emotions.” - Connie, Adult
“I used to tell myself that I was worthless, and that I am a failure, and many other things when I did something wrong or made someone upset. Now I think about what I have done, if it is my fault or not.” - Anonymous, Student*

BASICS 2012
This video is a series of interviews with some of the teenagers who participated in the 2012 Trek - BASICS Summer Program. This video was filmed at a follow-up meeting that took place nearly four months after the camp concluded. Their comments were based on their experiences and were unsolicited and unscripted.
